Positive People Welfare Society Tenkasi
The Positive People Welfare Society, Tenkasi, works for the noble cause of providing proper treatment and counseling to the people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHA).
ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND: Positive people welfare Society in Tenkasi was initiated by a group of HIV positive people in 2021 and registered in 2021 is manned & run by HIV positive people, PPWST+ is manned to provide self-help& associated services to those infected & affected by HIV/AIDS. PPWST+ aims to promote a feeling of belonging and togetherness those fasters self-help. PPWST+ has received good response from the infected & the affected people alike. PPWST+ is established to network with PLWHA in Tenkasi to facilitate togetherness, counselling, capacity building & referral services. Positive people welfare Society in Tenkasi also working with a Welfare of Children and Elderly care and Societal Marginalised community like HRG’s and LGBTQIA+. Having worked on treatment, rights, capacity building and livelihood issues and social acceptance issues since 2021 PPWST+ also works among rural and urban communities on a wide level of health & development issues in Tenkasi district.

To build a world where no human suffers or dies from HIV/AIDS, and to empower people living with HIV/AIDS for a healthier and HIV-free generation.
OUR MISSION
To support community action to prevent HIV and improve the quality of life for People Living with HIV (PLHIV) through treatment literacy, knowledge management, positive living, advocacy, and the creation of a stigma-free environment.
Our Programs
Monthly Nutrition Support Program
Positive People Welfare Society Tenkasi, is committed to addressing the nutritional needs of individuals living with HIV/AIDS through its Monthly Nutrition Support Program. Throughout the reporting period, PPWST+ distributed a variety of nutritional supplements, including vitamins, minerals, and protein-rich products, to eligible individuals. These supplements were carefully selected to address the specific nutritional needs associated with HIV/AIDS. The combination of nutritional assistance and educational initiatives reflects the organization's dedication to improve the health outcomes and quality of life of those it serves.
Group Counseling Program for Antenatal Care (ANC) Mothers
Positive People Welfare Society Tenkasi, recognizes the significance of supporting expectant mothers during their Antenatal Care (ANC) period. The group counseling program was initiated to provide a supportive and educational environment for ANC mothers. Throughout the reporting period, group counseling sessions were conducted on a regular basis. These sessions addressed a range of topics, including prenatal nutrition, maternal health, breastfeeding, childbirth preparation, and postpartum care. Knowledgeable counselors and healthcare professionals facilitated the sessions. The combination of educational content, peer support, and professional guidance contributes to the overall well-being of ANC mothers and aligns with organization's commitment to comprehensive healthcare.

Awarness Programs
Positive People Welfare Society Tenkasi, is committed to raise the awareness about the HIV/AIDS and STI among the school and College student. PPWST Plus always coordinate with the ICTC to create the awareness about HIV among the youth. The Awareness campaigns are the regular activities with RRC, during the program the students participated in various competitions.

Pongal Celebration
The celebration commenced with the traditional boiling of the Pongal dish in a clay pot. Members and volunteers actively participated in the cooking process, emphasizing the significance of the harvest season and agricultural abundance. The event featured vibrant cultural performances, including traditional dances, music, and folk art that showcased the rich heritage of the community. The Pongal celebration organized by PPWST+ successfully combined tradition, culture, and community spirit. It served as a platform to strengthen the bonds among members, instill a sense of cultural pride, and promote the organization's vision of creating a healthier and empowered community.01-Dec-2023
Rally Program for HIV/AIDS Awareness by Students
The rally aimed to engage the community, spread crucial information, and combat the stigma associated with HIV/AIDS. During the rally, students distributed informative pamphlets, brochures, and educational materials on HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and dispelling common myths. This dissemination of materials aimed to empower community members with accurate information and promote a culture of understanding.11-Nov-2023
Diwali Celebration
The Diwali celebration organized by Positive People Welfare Society Tenkasi (PPWST+) marked a joyous and vibrant occasion that brought together members, volunteers, and the community at large. The event aimed not only to celebrate the festival of lights but also to foster a sense of unity, happiness, and inclusivity within the organization. In line with PPWST+'s mission, a brief awareness session on HIV/AIDS prevention and the importance of supporting individuals living with the virus was conducted. This served as a reminder of the organization's commitment to its core values. The success of the event reflected the dedication of the organization towards its vision of creating a healthier and stigma-free world.Our Impact
